Membership Fees

GECA has various payment plans available to suit everyone’s needs; typically an athlete will pay for the entire year up front, or can break those costs up over the 3 typical competitive seasons. The club also has a spring-summer option for those high school based athletes looking to start ahead of the high school track & field season.

Payment Schedule; For seasonal payments
XC – Due September 30th
Indoor – Due December 31st
Summer – Due April 30th

Please be advised that our membership runs from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. The 2024-2025 membership fees are listed below.

Volunteer Requirements

All members are required to volunteer the Athletics Alberta mandated 12-hours per membership throughout the year.

What do the Club fees pay for?

Club fees are used to pay for athlete expenses and may include the following:

  • Indoor facility fees ($300-$600 per athlete)
  • Outdoor facility fees ($100-$200 per athlete)
  • Coach’s Honorariums ($400-$700 per athlete)
  • Coaching support at competitions
  • Club Insurance (~$75-$125 per athlete)
  • Some entry fees to select competitions (~$200 per athlete)
  • Administrative costs

Expenses covered are also dependent on the type of membership chosen.

What is not covered by Club fees?

  • Athletics Alberta Membership fees (this is a mandatory fee to be registered and renewed with Athletics Alberta at the time of club registration)
